INTERNATIONAL NEVSKY FORUM STARTS IN ST. PETERSBURG

The International Scientific Nevsky Forum will be held in St. Petersburg on June 24-26. Politicians, public persons, entrepreneurs, experts in the field of public administration and leading scientists from Russia, China, the United States, Finland, Slovakia and India will take part in the business program of the event.

The main theme of the Forum this year will be «Trust and Sustainable Development in Uncertainty: the new meaning of public administration in the digital age». Participants will discuss issues related to the green economy, technological independence and the digital transformation of management systems.

«The name of the Forum speaks for itself. So, it combines three themes at once-uncertainty, sustainable development and trust, and all of this is considered in the context of digitalization. This makes up the essence of the changes taking place in the world today, and it is these challenges that must be met if we want a better future for our countries,» said Vladimir Shamakhov, Director of NWIM RANEPA.

Among the invited guests of the forum are Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Deputy Chairman of the Leningrad Region Government Yalov Dmitry, member of the Presidium of the Economic Council under the President of the Russian Federation, Rector of RANEPA Vladimir Mau and many others.

As part of the business program, 12 thematic panel discussions are planned, during which more than 100 leading experts from Russia, CIS countries, Asia and Europe will take part in round tables, discussions and open lectures, some of them will be held in an online format, because the forum organizing committee makes everything to ensure that the event takes place taking into account all existing security measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The key track of the Nevsky Forum will be the section « Big Data and the Social credit system: Interdisciplinary research», which will be devoted to such topical issues as the impact of digitalization of the economy and society on the state and citizens, as well as information protection and the system of trust in the network.

In other areas, discussions will also be held on the impact of the epidemic and digitalization on the sustainable development of countries within the framework of integration organizations, the importance of involving citizens in overcoming the «crisis of trust» and tools to increase the level of trust among the population.

In addition to the main business program, a platform for discussions of young researchers is provided. In addition, a presentation of the book «Friendship among nations: History of a concept» / Manchester University Press which was written by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Political Studies of NWIM RANEPA, Candidate of Political Sciences, PhD, is planned on the Forum

Let’s remind that the event is organized by the North-West institute of Management of RANEPA under the President of the Russian Federation. The Institute annually organizes the Nevsky Forum, which is the successor to the international scientific Forum «Public Administration».
